Dr. Kristina Hondrila, Director, interdisciplinary background in sustainability transformations

Kristina has an interdisciplinary background in transformation research at the nexus of agriculture, water and nature protection. She has made it her main mission to promote sustainability via practice-oriented projects, advisory and educational offers that bring together diverse stakeholders.

Currently working as an organic farming consultant and director of Czech Organics (advisory, research and knowledge exchange activities) in the Czech Republic. Since 2021 has been coordinating the activities of the Czech Organics Innovation Hub and the first BIO region in the Czech Republic.

Janos studied organic agronomy for his BSc and MSc and is one of the three founders of TRIEBWERK, a company that focuses on consultation, education and planning in the fields of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry. He is also part of several research projects at University of Kassel/Witzenhausen in the field of regenerative cropping systems and advises administration and policy decisions around agroforestry.

Luc co-manages an organic family farm that is specialized on broiler production and spelt pasta production. He was awarded the Ceres Award as Young Farmer of the Year in 2018 and has been active as President of the Luxembourgish young farmers’ association for many years.

Currently working as a project manager of newly emerging agro-forestry areas in the Czech Republic. Four years professional experience as employee in a research institute on a research project on production and non-production functions of agroforestry. I am interested in measures for the adaptation of the agricultural landscape to climate change. And agroforestry is one of the main measures.

Holder of a master degree in agronomy from Gembloux Agro Bio-Tech University in Belgium, Tom participates in projects that support sustainable food production in cooperation with farmers, the national agricultural school and an intermunicipal nature protection association.

Alena studied Physical Geography and Environmental Systems Science with a focus on Soil Sciences for her BSc and MSc. She is working at TRIEBWERK in the field of climate adaptation and in several research projects at Swedish Agricultural University on agricultural soil health and land use related to climate change.

Education in environmental management, food systems and adaptation sciences; specialised in the topic of climate change mitigation and adaptation in agricultural systems. Currently working as an independent consultant and strategic manager of the agricultural holding Hof Tolle.

Many years of professional experience in adult vocational training (lifelong learning) in a production company and in higher education. Specialised in project management of ERASMUS+ projects in the field of sustainable agriculture for several years.

Lærke holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Copenhagen and Swedish University of Agricultural Science, with a special focus on land use and soil science. She is coordinating the knowledge group for the Association of Regenerative Agriculture of Denmark and works with agricultural research and strategic development at the regenerative farm Øm Klostergaard in Denmark

Dr. Juliane El Zohbi holds a PhD in climate-vegetation modelling. Her current work focuses on the agricultural sector to generate answers to questions such as: How is the agricultural sector affected by climate change? How can the agricultural sector adapt to the changing climate? How can the sector actively contribute to climate protection so that Germany reaches the “net-zero goal” in time? With her work at GERICS, Juliane El Zohbi contributes to improving the dialogue between climate research and practical applications. 

Zuzana has a background in Landscape architecture and lanscape planning. She is a freelancer for several years specialising in agricultural landscape design.
